Gary Brixen was the first Osseo fatality of the Vietnam War

S/Sgt Brixen's platoon were taking part in the military operation "Atlanta 11" in Binh Duong Province in South Vietnam, in the Iron Triangle area 30 miles north of Saigon. About 12:30 on November 21, 1967, S/Sgt Brixen's platoon came under heavy enemy shell fire, killing Brixen and five of his men and wounding 34 others
