Served with CO B, 110 Machine Gun Battalion, 29th Division.

Took part in the Meuse-Argonne offensive as part of the French XVII Corps and saw 21 days of combat with that unit.

Left St. Nazaire, France on May 2, 1919 and arrived in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 20, 1919. From there he was transferred to Camp Merritt and the 327th Machine Gun Battalion, 84th Division and was discharge from there June 2, 1919.
